Pick the right tool
A long-handled back trimmer, or an electric trimmer with a guard, is safer than a razor on a large area you can't see.
Get a second pair of eyes
A partner, friend or barber can do the first clean pass. For later touch-ups, a camera and a screen can stand in for a second person.
Use your phone
Prop the phone so it films your back, or hold and move it while watching another screen. Remember many mirror views reverse left and right.
Take it slowly
- Start with a longer guard and work down.
- Move with the direction of growth first.
- Moisturise afterwards.
- Clean the trimmer after each use.
General grooming tips, not medical advice. If you have a skin condition, a mole that changes, or irritation that doesn’t settle, see a doctor or pharmacist.
