By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerUse a hand mirror facing a wall mirror, take a photo or short video of the back of your head with your phone, or prop your phone and use the timer. Shave View, is designed to show it live.
Two mirrors
Stand with your back to a wall mirror and hold a hand mirror in front of your face. Everything is reversed twice, so move slowly.
Phone photos
Hold the phone behind your head, take a photo with the volume button, check it, adjust, repeat. Slow but accurate.
Short video
Record a slow pass around the back of your head and watch it back.
Live view
Shave View, a Crown feature, is designed to put your iPhone camera’s view live on your laptop or iPad while you move the phone.
Questions
Can I use a video call?
Some people video-call their own laptop from their phone. It works, though with a delay.
