Underarm and body grooming: simple, safe habits

Short answerSoften the hair with warm water, use a sharp clean blade and a gel, shave with light short strokes, and moisturise after. Use a trimmer with a guard on sensitive areas, and don't shave broken or irritated skin.

Before

  • Warm water first to soften hair and skin.
  • A gel or cream so the blade glides.
  • A sharp, clean blade. Dull blades drag and irritate.

During

  • Short, light strokes; don't press.
  • Gently flatten skin where it folds.
  • Rinse the blade often.
  • Stop if it stings or turns red.

After

  • Rinse with cool water, pat dry.
  • Use a fragrance-free moisturiser.
  • Don't share razors.
  • Give irritated skin a rest.

Personal grooming areas

Same rules, more care: a trimmer with a guard is gentler than a razor, go slowly, and never shave broken or irritated skin. Seeing clearly what you're doing is a big part of avoiding mistakes, which is the idea behind Shave View.

General grooming tips, not medical advice. If you have a skin condition, a mole that changes, or irritation that doesn’t settle, see a doctor or pharmacist.
